ESPANOLA, NM - The Northern New Mexico Eagles are on the road once again, and taking on nationally ranked Valley City State University, in North Dakota. The eagles lost a barn-burner when they took on the Vikings at home in late December, and look to rebound tonight. "It was a back and forth game last time. Some poor decisions and bad calls determined the outcome of the game, but we are more composed now," said Head Coach Ryan Cordova.

The Eagles are coming off of two straight (3 point) losses to McMurray University and University of the Southwest. Still looking for their first win, the Eagles are 0-1 in conference, and could move right to the top with wins this weekend as they take on the Valley City State University and Mayville University, Saturday and Sunday. Both teams are new to Conference AII since they abandoned the Dakota Athletic Conference last year. Valley City State won the Dakota Conference in 2010 and are ranked second in the AII as well as 23rd nationally.

The Eagles remain optimistic, "Playing big games on the road is no new challenge to us, and that is why we play such a grueling pre-season schedule," said Cordova. "We are still young and energetic, and have many games left to earn some respect in this league." The Eagles are healthy and look to leading scorers, Rodney Coles and Demeatrio Wade to lead the team on the road.
