Arizona State Champion Signs With Northern

WBBESPANOLA, NM - The Northern New Mexico College women's basketball program has signed Amber Tso to a National Letter of Intent for the 2012-2013 season. Tso comes to Northern from Page High School in Page, AZ.

"We are thrilled to announce the signing of Amber. She will be a great addition to Northern women's basketball, bringing her experience from such a successful senior campaign at Page High School. I'm looking forward to watching her impact and growth both on the court and around campus," commented head coach Christina Jost.

Tso, a 5'3" guard, lead Page High School, as a co-captain, to a 31-2 overall record this past season and eventual 2011-2012 Arizona Division III State Championship. Alongside this tremendous accomplishment, Amber also was named to the All-Tournament teams of the Navajo Holiday Classic and Pepsi Holiday Classic, New Mexico, Navajo Times, and Arizona Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Teams, and garnered Arizona Republic Division III Honorable Mention and Arizona Division III All Section 2nd Team honors. As a senior, Tso averaged 8.9 ppg, 1.8 rpg, had 63 total assists, 74 total steals, and took 32 total charges.

"Amber is a well-rounded young lady who possesses a strong commitment to her academics and athletics," commented Jost. Tso was also a four-year member of the cross country team and 6 year member in rodeo. "Amber is a talented student-athlete who experienced leading her team to a state championship this past season. We will look for Amber to bring that championship mentality and attitude to our program next season," continued Jost.

Tso will enter Northern as a true freshman and is currently undecided on a major.
