ESPANOLA, NM - Northern New Mexico College has added another International Basketball player to their Men’s Basketball team. Richie Murillo of Calexico, California is the newest member of the NNMC Eagles. Richie played on the U16 Mexican National team out of Mexico City. Upon transferring to Vincent Memorial, in California, Richie led the team in scoring averaging 23.4 ppg and 8.3 rpg.

Northern New Mexico College coach, Ryan Cordova said "Richie can get to the basket, and can finish or dish to someone who can. His passing skills and footwork are the best I have seen from any High school senior this year". Murillo selected NNMC after visiting 2 other colleges. "He will fit right in here at Northern. He was a hot commodity in Mexico and now he will be a hot commodity here in NEW Mexico".
