ESPANOLA,
NM - The Northern New Mexico College women's basketball program has signed Bryana Johnson to a National Letter of Intent for the 2012-2013 season. Johnson comes to Northern from Valencia High School in Los Lunas, NM.
"We are extremely excited to have Bryana join our basketball family here at Northern. She is a remarkable young lady who will be a wonderful addition to our women's basketball program and Northern New Mexico College," commented head coach Christina Jost.
Johnson is a 5'4" guard that averaged 5 points per game, 3 rebounds per game, 2 assists per game and totaled 45 steals as a senior. She was awarded All-District Second Team, All-District Academic Team, and was an All-Metro Student-Athlete Nominee this past season.
"Bryana excels both in the classroom and on the court," commented Jost, "and we will look to her to bring that excellence here to Northern. Bryana comes from a program that went 20-7 this past season, so she understands the demands of success and I'm confident she will bring that knowledge to our program next year."
Johnson will enter Northern as a true freshman and is intending to pursue a major in Engineering.
