ESPANOLA, New Mexico. – Northern’s women’s basketball team has signed Shannon Dez to a National Letter of Intent for the 2010-2011 season.

Dez is a 6’0” post player transferring to NNMC from Porterville Community College, where she averaged 5ppg and 4rpg as a freshman. Dez is a native of Sheep Springs, NM where she played high school basketball for Aztec High School.

“Shannon will be a great addition to NNMC and our women’s basketball program. We will look to her to bring a dominant presence inside for us,” said head coach Christina Jost. “We are very excited to have Shannon join our program and feel she has the potential to accomplish many great things here at NNMC, both on and off the court.”

Shannon intends to major in Nursing while attending Northern.
