ZACK COLE , MEN'S BASKETBALL ASSOCIATE HEAD COACH

Coach CordovaCoach Zack Cole begins his second year as the Associate Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Northern New Mexico College. Coach Cole is an Espanola Valley High School graduate where he was a multi sport athlete and earned the Athlete of the year honor in 1998. Coach Cole has taught secondary education for the past eight years and is currently teaching at Espanola Valley High.

Coach Cole went on to play college basketball for Fort Lewis College in the very competitive Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC). Coach Cole was a four year starter for the Skyhawks. Zack also won all conference honors his senior year and was named co-MVP by current head coach Bob Hoffman. Zack got to play on teams that have set the precedence for the current Division 2 powerhouse that the Skyhawks have become. Zack was a part of FLC teams that were the back to back RMAC west division champions in 02-03, RMAC Tourney Champs in 02, and back to back NCAA Division 2 National Tournament teams, which were the first in school history. Zack ranks 1st in Fort Lewis College history in career 3-point field goals made, 3rd in career assists, 6th in career steals and 21st in career points.

After college Cole began his coaching career as an assistant under Coach Cordova for one season at Gallup High School. Coach Cole then got the opportunity to coach under Coach Ben Gomez for the then state power house Capital High School Jaguars. Coach Cole climbed up the coaching ranks as a head C team coach, head JV coach, and assistant varsity coach within a 5 year span.

Coach Cole has a beautiful family of four that consists of his two young sons, Bronson and Cannon, and his fiancée Adrienne. They have created a wonderful home in Santa Fe, New Mexico where they have resided for the past seven years.
