mbbDENVER, Co . - The Eagles took off for their first road trip of the season. The Eagles played 3 games in only a 4 day stretch. The Eagles first game was against McPherson College where they battled for an overtime win 87-85. Senior guard Gabe Martinez led the Eagles in scoring with 24. Senior forward Eric Garcia had his first double double of the season with 21 points and 12 rebounds.

The Eagles picked up their 4th win of the season against Bethel College 75-70. Sophomore forward, Will Harvey, led the Eagles with 14 points. The only other Eagle in double figures was senior guard Christian Barraza who added 11. (More)

mbbESPANOLA, N.M. - The NNMC Men’s Basketball team picked up two wins to open their season. On Thursday October 30th, the Eagles defeated The University of Saint Mary (Kansas) in an overtime thriller 100-102.

The Eagles were led by senior Gabe Martinez as he dropped 31 points shooting 7-11 from the 3 point line.

Three other Eagles also scored in double figures, Patrick Bendegue (11), Walid Ahmed (13), & Will Harvey (11). Freshman Quincy Gause had a game high 13 rebounds. (More)



Host Sites Set For Basketball Championships

NNMCESPANOLA, N.M. - Northern New Mexico College and West Virginia Tech University have been selected as the host sites for the 2014-15 Association of Independent Institutions Conference's basketball championships.

NNMC will host the men's and women's Division II Tournament on Feb. 27-28, while WVTU will host the Division I tournament on March 6-8. (More)


NNMC Men Named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes

scholarPOINT LOOKOUT, Mo. - The National Association of the Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced Monday that 134 Division II menís basketball student-athletes have been named 2013-14 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

NNMC Juniors, Gabriel Martinez and Ashton Johnson were two of the 134 total athletes honored during the 2014-2015 season. Martinez and Johnson become the first ever NNMC male athletes to receive this honor. (More)
