NNMC Graduate Signs Professional Contract

MBBESPANOLA, NM . - Daniel Chatchou signed a professional contract to play for the Indios de Juarez, a top organization in the LPB (Ligo Premier de Baloncesto) Mexican League. Chatchou finished his college career at NNMC last season (2013-2014), where he helped lead the Eagles to their first ever A.I.I. Conference Championship and their first ever NAIA National Tournament appearance. (READ MORE)

MBBESPANOLA, NM . - Saturday night was a night to remember for the Northern New Mexico Basketball program. Senior guard, Gabriel Martinez became the leading scorer in NNMC history, and also passed an incredible career mile stone. Martinez scored his 1000 career point. On the season Martinez also leads the A.I.I. Conference in scoring with 15.48 ppg. On his four years playing for Northern he averages just under 14 points, and has a total of 1,009 career points. Martinez broke the 1000 point mile stone in the middle of the second half, and he did so in fashion. Martinez drove to the basket, and quickly pulled up for a jumper, leaving his defender slipping defensively. (READ MORE)


Eagles Knock Off #1 Team In The Country

MBBESPANOLA, NM . - Northern New Mexico College had revenge on their mind for over two weeks now. On January 24th, Northern New Mexico had the #1 ranked NAIA Division I California State University San Marcos down 20 points with just 6 minutes left to play. Northern New Mexico was unable to finish the game, as Cal State San Marcos came back to win in double overtime.

This time NNMC was not going to let that happen again, as they defeated #1 CSUSM 86-67. NNMC (NAIA Division II) had a 7 point lead with 4:39 left in the game, as they caught fire and finished the game on a 19-7 run. (READ MORE)

MBBESPANOLA, NM . - Northern picked up their third straight win Sunday night against Saint Katherine College.

The Eagles dominated the glass as they out rebounded SKC 48 to 30, and junior big man Patrick Bendegue lead the way with 9 rebounds. Bench scoring was also a huge factor in last night’s win, as the Eagles bench out scored SKC 42 to 22.

Every single player for Northern scored last night, and senior guard Gabe Martinez led the way with 20 points.
