MBBESPANOLA, NM . - Northern picked up their third straight win Sunday night against Saint Katherine College.

The Eagles dominated the glass as they out rebounded SKC 48 to 30, and junior big man Patrick Bendegue lead the way with 9 rebounds. Bench scoring was also a huge factor in last night’s win, as the Eagles bench out scored SKC 42 to 22.

Every single player for Northern scored last night, and senior guard Gabe Martinez led the way with 20 points.

Eagles Defeat Doane College

MBBESPANOLA, NM . - The Northern New Mexico Men’s Basketball team started off 2015 with a big win at home. The Eagles defeated Doane College (NAIA Division II) 74-82. The Eagles forced 21 turnovers and scored 29 total points off turnovers.

This was Northern’s first home game since December 5th, when they dropped a nail biter to NCAA Division II, Eastern New Mexico University.

The Eagles came ready to play as they shot 41% from the field and dominated the paint outscoring their opponent 38 to 24. Sophomore Will Harvey led the Eagles with 20 points and 8 rebounds. For the complete state line of this game CLICK HERE.

Eagles Go Into Break 5-5

mbbESPANOLA, NM . - The Eagles played NCAA Division II Colorado Mesa University in their second game at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs Basketball Classic. It was a back and forth game the entire night. However, the Eagles came up two points just shy of upsetting another NCAA institution.

“This is by far our toughest part of our schedule, we played five NCAA Division II teams in only 7 days. Not to mention all of them being on the road.” Head Coach Ryan Cordova said. (More)

Eagles Finish Long Road Trip 2-1

mbbDENVER, Co . - The Eagles took off for their first road trip of the season. The Eagles played 3 games in only a 4 day stretch. The Eagles first game was against McPherson College where they battled for an overtime win 87-85. Senior guard Gabe Martinez led the Eagles in scoring with 24. Senior forward Eric Garcia had his first double double of the season with 21 points and 12 rebounds.

The Eagles picked up their 4th win of the season against Bethel College 75-70. Sophomore forward, Will Harvey, led the Eagles with 14 points. The only other Eagle in double figures was senior guard Christian Barraza who added 11. (More)

Eagles Start Season 2-0

mbbESPANOLA, N.M. - The NNMC Men’s Basketball team picked up two wins to open their season. On Thursday October 30th, the Eagles defeated The University of Saint Mary (Kansas) in an overtime thriller 100-102.

The Eagles were led by senior Gabe Martinez as he dropped 31 points shooting 7-11 from the 3 point line.

Three other Eagles also scored in double figures, Patrick Bendegue (11), Walid Ahmed (13), & Will Harvey (11). Freshman Quincy Gause had a game high 13 rebounds. (More)
